— Luna is a Pureblood witch. She is not enough to be considered completely 'pure', and certainly not part of the Sacred Twenty Eight. Luna does have some Muggle/Muggleborn ancestry in further generations of her family, however she is considered 'Pureblood' by having all magical grandparents and parents of either Half-blood or Pureblood status.
— The Lovegoods are a very small family. The lack of mentions on Luna's part gives the impression that Luna may not have much in a way of an extended family. While it's possible she does have distant relations, they're not people she's close with. Xenophilius and Pandora were both only children. Some or all of her grandparents are deceased by Deathly Hallows.
— Luna has very little experience with or knowledge of Muggle culture. While there may have been interactions with other Wizarding families, the Lovegoods largely kept to themselves and did not integrate with Muggle society. Luna was home-schooled by her mother, and did not attend Muggle primary school education. She does, however, have some familiarity with Muggle literature but it's quite limited.
— Luna learned Gaeilge from her parents. Her usage is minimal, and a little rusty at times but she can understand and speak Gaeilge.
— Luna was tortured at Malfoy Manor. During the three months or so in which she was held prisoner, Luna did experience torture at the hands of Death Eaters, mostly using the form of the Cruciatus curse. Due to her status of being a ring-leader of Dumbledore's Army, and a known participator in several fights against Death Eaters — she would considered a valuable asset, and would have possible information on either the Golden Trio, or the whereabouts of the resistance within Hogwarts. She would also be tortured as a way of keeping her in line from buoying up other prisoners at Malfoy Manor.
— more in the works.
