ABOUT
Once owned by John Constantine, ownership has passed to Luna Lovegood since early 2022. Similar to the old shop in Deerington just a little more dated, a place that has feel of overall safety to it. The room is moody in lighting with the use of lunar orbs and candlelight, but there's a sense of cosiness to it — if one doesn't mind the taxidermy. An open plan split over two floors, separated by a metal spiral staircase, the main floor houses most of the stock and items with additional stock kept on the upper floor, which is more bright with natural light. A wood fire burns on one side of the room, surrounded by living room furniture: leather sofas, an armchair, side tables and a coffee table. There is also a large table for working, littered with texts and items of whatever it is Luna's currently working on, plus the sales counter.

Through to the back of the building, there is the back rooms. Spaces that make the building seem bigger than it actually should be. Most of the rooms are empty and unused, or simply locked, but there is even a living space back there, once inhabited but is now currently empty.

The shop houses a collection of curiosities and occult items, the most dangerous of those being kept under very tight lock and key. If something appears at random that wasn't there a second ago, it might be best to just leave it be.

In terms of stock, Ritual Gig features a collection of occult/supernatural texts and grimoires from the multiverse, along with texts native to the Waking World, ranging on topics from spirits and spiritualism, cryptids, demonology, medieval apothecaries, blood magic, occult magic, Corruption and Beasthood, and more. There is a sizeable stock of magic items such as items made of deer antlers, blood stones and various items made from them. Equipment for magic work can also be bought here: a small amount of ingredients, new vials, silver knives, cauldrons, and just about anything else one might need for ritual needs. Potions and tinctures are also sold here, with a good many of them being from Luna's homeworld: poison antidotes, calming draughts, sleeping potions, burn salves, etc. The stock is constantly expanding when Luna is able to obtain more ingredients from her homeworld.

A quadrupedal Beast that appears to be a mix of deer and wolf, with fur dark in colour. Possesses huge paws, with incredibly sharp claws. Its head appears to be that of a wolf skull, with iridescent, glowing eyes. — streams of light lifting from them like smoke. The beast also has a mass of sharp antlers, along with a mass of appendage-like hair that moves on its own accord — similar to that of Moon Presence.

This beast will attack with behaviours similar to the animals it appears to be; they will charge with their antlers much like stags do. It will also fight much like a wolf with tooth and claw. It can also perform acts of random accidental magic in the form of explosions, stuns and burnings — but these are often wild and dangerous. The chance of collateral damage is high. Tackling this Beast is urged with extreme caution due to this ability. Magic defences of some form is highly advised.

In behaviour, this beast is extremely violent and volatile when faced with others. And will behave as much as a wild animal does, without rational thought and will attack furiously with claws and antlers. Despite this, if left alone, the beast will be somewhat docile and will not actively seek out Sleepers/Trenchies to hurt or harm.

DEER COUNTRY: BLOOD POWER — PROPHECY

MANIFESTATION

When naturally occurring, Prophecies have little to no warning as will come on suddenly, out of nowhere. However whether naturally occurring or induced via blood ritual, physical manifestation appears the same — appearing much like how Seers have Prophecies within the Harry Potter Universe, albeit with some bonus spooky body horror.

Luna would go stiff as a board and fall from wherever she stands, she will exhibit seizure-like symptoms for a short period, her eyes clouding over with white. Prophecies will be spoken in vague or cryptic descriptions, that have varying degrees of difficulty in terms of understanding. She speaks in a voice not her own, but a cacophonous chorus. She will be completely unresponsive during this time.

The whole ordeal would be over in a matter of moments and she'll slowly come around, having thought she'd fallen asleep.

CONTROL

Prophecies would be very uncommon in occurrence, and incredibly random. ICly, they won't be something she'll be able to really control, nor will she be to able willingly to focus on what the prophecy will be about. Luna won't remember her prophecies. She will fall into a trance-like state while she speaks the prophecy, and unless she has someone with her — the prophecy would be otherwise lost.

Naturally occurring Prophecies happen during times of 'Natural Bleeding', or if Luna's Paleblood effect of a particular month mean an increased occurrence of Prophecies. In the future, when Luna works out what causes her Prophecies, she will induce one by spilling blood in a ritual — with one blood ritual per Prophecy.

USE IN GAME

Have a player plot coming up? Want to give your character a head's up on something happening in their life in Trench, or someone they know? Or perhaps give them knowledge about their canon futures? Maybe create an accidental self-fulfilling prophecy for them? I'm here for shenanigans. Let's talk.

Essentially, how this could go about is with OOC plotting for details on what you want your character to find out, it could then be implemented ICly simply by their character being around Luna and it 'happening randomly'. Threads can be played out or handwaved.

In the future, when Luna learns how to induce a Prophecy, it's possible for her to try and offer these to other characters since she'll be able to have them in a more controlled manner and organise to have someone around to record them. That way she can later contact people to tell them to Prophecies she's had.

Character(s) Starting the Situation: Luna Lovegood.

How it Begins/What's Happening: Noticing how Palebloods have taken a strong urge to collect the fruits around Trench, and how there seems to be a positive effect when using them in cooking that she's discovered along the way, Luna takes to the network in early June to discuss it. As context, she's been shown The Great British Bake-Off and has watched this on her Omni (and Fluid in Deerington) and wonders if maybe following the Karate Tournament — Palebloods could sign up and take part in a little baking competition. If all Palebloods work together in baking things, it'll be something good for all Sleepers to benefit from.

She offers that the food collectively produced from the competition could be shared out and offered to all Sleepers to keep (with help of a little preservation charm so it lasts a good while, although no longer than six months). She (perhaps with Remina's help, to kind of link it in to her month) creates a little list of rounds for a Bake Off competition, such as:

— a dessert that reminds you of home
— a dessert you learned from someone else
— a dessert relevant to your culture

Palebloods who sign up will have time to prepare and organise during the month, and Luna will be asking if anyone wants to host the competition, help from magic-users in building the set, asking for judges/presenters, etc.

(Remina can also be a judge too tbh).

How it Ends: Down to player-by-player, or perhaps RNG I reckon! It really depends on how many people sign up to it. I'm thinking of logistics-wise, I could do split into random groups of eight of mixed abilities, and then so many of each go forward to the next round. Although to be honest, everyone kind of wins: everyone gets some Corruption-slaying/comforting dessert food they can store away and Remina gets Sleepers taking part in activities related to a Sleeper's personal histories. Luna might offer a trophy of some sort to the winner, too!

Partially Open or Fully Open: Only Palebloods will be able to participate in the actual baking, but anyone can do roles like judging/presenting/be audience participants.

FROM THE AUTHOR: ABOUT THIS BOOK

It is a fair statement to say that living within the city of Trench is not the easiest of affairs. It shares much of the hardships I once experienced within Deerington, the dream of Julia Sodder — an experience I and many other Sleepers remember only too well. But the Waking World comes with quite a few new challenges too. Beasthood and Corruption are only two of those challenges.

Perhaps it is the punishment of the Sleepers of Deerington, the price we paid when sacrificing Julia instead of awakening her. Julia struggled much with her Pthumerian abilities. I suppose it was the Humanity of her, not knowing how to handle it — the world and existence of Pthumerians very much eludes me at times. It was never done out of malice, or I should like to think not. I always believed sacrificing might have been the kindest thing to do for the poor child.

And with that, we have opened a door to much blood and magic.

Other than the tireless efforts of the Blood Ministers and Hunters, the cures to Beasthood are difficult to come by. For those who cannot be captured and undergo treatments by the Blood Ministers, death is often the only option — often for those who are native to this world. And while death is not a permanent state for Sleepers — I write this book to be an endeavour of avoiding that fate. Death is still painful, still has consequences — for both the Sleeper themselves and the hand who wields the wand, the sword, the bow.

There is still much we don't know about Beasthood, and dealing with Sleeper Beasts is much of a spell in the dark without a lighting charm. This book is the lighting charm. Beasthood is not a one-off occurance. My former mentor and friend in Deerington, Newt Scamander, was very much a pioneer of Magizoology within our world. His book, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, is a crucial and endlessly helpful piece of literature that has guided witches and wizards with magical creatures for decades. I learned a great deal from him, and admire him greatly as man who champions understanding and discovery of the natural world around us. I take a great deal of inspiration from him in writing this book.

Here you will find an encylopedia of sorts of known Beasthood forms of Sleepers (and some natives of the Waking World), noting their appearance, temperament, abilities, strengths and weaknesses. It will also contain details about known cures of Beasthood, offering the reader the guidance needed to deal with Beasts without resorting to death of the person — in a way that best keeps them safe, prepared and informed.

I hope you will find this book useful, and let it be a testament to a kinder approach to a horror of this world — created with the tireless work of myself, previous Scholars before me, and other Sleepers, whose own research notes they have generously offered in this pursuit.

INTRODUCTION CONT.

WHAT IS A BEAST?
A Beast, bluntly put, is what happens when a persons of the Waking World succumbs to Beasthood. Where Corruption is the decay of a person's mental state and psyche, Beasthood occurs when a person's physical form decays. While the two are not completely interlinked, there is shown to be some instances that show that severe Corruption will ultimately result in Beasthood. However, a persons may be Corrupt without becoming a Beast, and much is the same the other way round. A person may succumb to Beasthood without ever being under any effects of Corruption due to the outside influences of the world.

Arguably, the physical affects of Corruption could be in turn what causes Beasthood — as it is the erosion of a person's physical appearance, which is part of a person's identity. Additionally, some mental symptoms of Corruption can impact a person's physical identity which could also lead said person down the road to Beasthood. It is quite imperative, in any case, to ensure that Corruption is dealt with swiftly when symptoms arise to ensure a person has the best chance of avoiding Beasthood as much as possible.

Beasthood can affect people differently, be it in their form or behaviours. With behaviour, in some cases, people become the very worst of themselves, much like whilst under the effects of Corruption. Some as Beasts become violent, vengeful, bent on wanton destruction and carnage. Some act out purely in fear. It is possible to argue that those who lose themselves to Beasthood are reduced to simplistic, animal-like behaviours. Some may recognise those they know and turn against them, or specifically target those that have done them wrong without the sense of conscience to hold them back. That is not always the case, as others may still reflect themselves but push those feelings to extremes. People as Beasts may be compelled to go to extreme measures to protect the ones they love, or will not feel driven to attack those closest to them. Those who enjoy jokes and pranks may become violent tricksters who will push the jokes too far. Some wish simply to be left alone, or will only attack in self-defence. Some may even be actively gentle or helpful to others. It is difficult to find any common basis, however, and one can never truly know how they may behave until they experience Beasthood for the first time.

Forms can come in all shapes and sizes. Some are humanoid, some appear like animals. Some may be recognisable to their human selves with specific characteristics both physically and mentally, where others are not. It is important to note the homeworlds and experiences of those when they transform, as they may play a part in helping to recognise Beasts. My own form has notes of both a wolf and a deer — with wolves (and werewolves, a kind of beast from my own world) having ties to the moon, and the deer physical characteristics stemming from my time within the Dream. My own form is also capable of using magic, given my status as a witch. This may not be the case for all, but it is worth mentioning.

CAUTION
All advice offered within this manual should be used with extreme caution. This publication is merely designed to offer information on Beastforms of Sleepers and how best to interact with them, along with bringing them back from Beasthood without resulting in the death of the Sleeper. However, Beastforms ultimately are dangerous, and interacting with such can result in serious injury and death.

CURES OF BEASTHOOD

These pages contain a list of known methods of curing Beasthood without using the measure of killing said Sleeper. This list is not exhaustive, and will be updated in due course when more methods become known.

— BLADE OF AGENCY An extremely powerful item gifted to those who fall under the Patronage of Doorway. It is said that to strike a Beast with this sword will return them from Beasthood.

— BLOOD BONDS It has been proven in various cases that blood bonds, a ritual magic which falls under the realm of the Patron Doorway, can bring those back from Beasthood. This is the case with both Familial and Romantic bonds, where one party may bring back the other party via the telepathic bond that is created with the bond. Bonding Pacts between people should always be done with caution. For more Information, please see Beginners Guide For Blood Pacts.

— BLOOD MINISTRATION The art of healing via Blood Magic, resided over by the Blood Ministers of Lumenwood. A process involving both magical and non-magical techniques that can be used not only for curing Beasthood, but for standard healing and curing Corruption.

— BLOOD RELICS There is discussion within Scholars and Disciples of a kind of weapon known as a Blood Relic. Born from the user's blood and forged by a Pthumerian in the shape of a person's soul, blood weapons are rare, powerful items that reflect the nature of those who wield them. Such items, when made, could possible be specifically formed to help those who have fallen to Beasthood. Little else is known about these weapons, as their status is near legendary. They haven't been seen for some time, and there is little record on them in the Archives.

— COMMUNICATION Separately to Bonds, a possible way of returning someone from Beasthood could be the very simply method of talking the Beast down. This would be arguable for those who have strong, positive relationships with the affected. This may only be possible if the affected person still retains their own mind, and may not work with those who are fully consumed/lost to Beasthood.

— DEATH This is not an entry I enjoy adding to this list, but it is one that must be included regardless. I would consider it a last and final resort, sparingly used if at all. Death will cure Beasthood. However, one should remember that only Sleepers may return from death. The natives of the Waking World will not. Even with that, one should not play with the gift of resurrection. Death may not be permanent for Sleepers, but it an experience that will change us in some way or another.

— MOON DROP A highly prized item gifted from Moon Presence. These stones can completely cure Beasthood, blood pollution, injuries, and even bring one back from death. When used, those who have had the stone used upon them may experience a brief commune with Moon Presence, or in her human form as Cynthia Sodder. (Note: The author has personally experienced this, a sort of vision with Cynthia upon the beaches of the Farther Shores, in which we had a brief conversation. It was a pleasant experience.)

— MOON DROP RELICS An excerpt discovered from an old text found in a monastery dedicated to Moon Presence tells of a legend of blood weapons that were blessed by Moon Presence herself, that she imbued with an essence not unlike her own and the Moon Drops. Weapons that would do no harm and could heal both the body and the soul — weapons that held a great price for the users as well.

While they are made by the same process as regular blood relics, they require the use of a Moon Drop. These can be in whole, or split in two for bonded weapons of slightly lesser power. Moon Presence appears as a vision to preside over these rituals, similar to how she appears when one has a Moon Drop used on them, and will choose, guide, and direct characters that are more selfless in nature and who wish to heal the Waking World. They take on a lunar, moonstone quality instead of the user's own blood, though embellishments of their blood will still be present in it to mark it as theirs.

By their nature, these weapons do not harm living beings. Even if the sharpest-looking sword, they will not cut normal living flesh. It might be a sword that heals wounds instead, or a pair of gloves that burn away corruption and leave the person they were used on feeling refreshed. They are particularly effective against Beasts, not harming the person or animal they once were. They will never be as powerful as a raw Moon Drop, unable to bring persons back from the dead or instantly curing Beasthood, but they are tempered by the Sleeper's blood and will to be permanent if lesser.

— NATIVE ITEMS There are reports of items from Sleepers' home worlds that are able to bring back those from Beasthood. While further research is needed into this in terms of specifics, it seems reasonable to believe that the magics and powers of home can equally be as effective as what means can be found within the Waking World.

— PTHUMERIAN BLOOD It is said that Pthumerian blood is known for being a reliable cure for Beasthood and Corruption. Studies believe it helps to realign one's broken mind and put it back together. This can be done either by forced ingestion, an injection, or simply throwing Pthumerian blood all over an infected being. However, this blood is incredibly rare and difficult to find — perhaps one of the most highly coveted items of the Waking World — and it is highly unlikely for one to obtain it.

— SALT LAKE Only at the time of the full moon, the Salt Lake's foul and toxic waters will change to bright pink and become vibrant with life. It provides incredible healing properties, soothes the soul, and restores sanity. Many believe that this might have once been the lake where the great Pthumerian Queen gave birth to Moon Presence, and where the Pthumerian Queen died — which I believe fully plausible, having witnessed the memory of it myself. Leading a Beast here to submerge themselves within the waters of the full moon will bring the affected back to themselves.

— WARMBLOOD Historically known as 'wasted potential', it would be an unfair name when considering the useful properties of this blood type. Research shows that Warmblood barely contributes to blood pollution of this world. Not only this, but it is incredibly valuable within the realm of Blood Ministration due its flexible and non-invasive nature, and is often specifically used to help bring people back from Beasthood.

CLASSIFICATIONS

The following is an advisory 'at a glance' guide to the perceived danger of Sleeper Beasthood forms. Adapted from the Ministry of Magic Beast Classification, courtesy of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures.

XXXX — Dangerous to all. Should only be dealt with by specialist persons.
XXX — Will not attack unless provoked, approach with extreme caution.
XX — Destructive. Harmful to Animals and Properties.
X — Peaceful. Will not attack Sleepers, Animals or Properties.

LUNA LOVEGOOD

— Sleeper Name: Luna Lovegood.
— Sleeper Blood Type: Paleblood.
— Beast Height: 9ft, excluding antlers.
— Beast Strengths: Antlers for goring; claws capable of mauling; decent speed; powerful in terms of raw strength; capable of magic.
— Beast Weaknesses: Charging can leave defences open, or will get tangled; little body protection.
— Classification: XXX

A quadrupedal Beast that appears to be a mix of deer and wolf, with fur dark in colour. Possesses huge paws, with incredibly sharp claws. Its head appears to be that of a wolf skull, with iridescent, glowing eyes. — streams of light lifting from them like smoke. The beast also has a mass of sharp antlers, along with a mass of appendage-like hair that moves on its own accord — similar to that of Moon Presence.

This beast will attack with behaviours similar to the animals it appears to be; they will charge with their antlers much like stags do. It will also fight much like a wolf with tooth and claw. It can also perform acts of random accidental magic in the form of explosions, stuns and burnings — but these are often wild and dangerous. The chance of collateral damage is high. Tackling this Beast is urged with extreme caution due to this ability. Magic defences of some form is highly advised.

In behaviour, this beast is extremely violent and volatile when faced with others. And will behave as much as a wild animal does, without rational thought and will attack furiously with claws and antlers. Despite this, if left alone, the beast will be somewhat docile and will not actively seek out Sleepers/Trenchies to hurt or harm.

Known Methods of Successful Curing:

— Blood Pact Bond (Romantic).

YOICHI SHIGARAKI

— Sleeper Name: Yoichi Shiagaraki.
— Sleeper Blood Type: Coldblood.
— Beast Height: Varies.
— Beast Strengths: Capable of creating a toxic fog; venomous bite.
— Beast Weaknesses: Vulnerable to psychics/psychic abilities.
— Classification: XX

A serpentine beast, capable of growing or shrinking its size at will. It reminds me of the Occamy, a magical creature of my world which is known to be choranaptyxic: meaning it would grow or shrink in order to fit available space. At first glance, this creature does not appear to have much of a solid form, as it appears to be made up almost entirely of a fog-like gas. However, its body does seem to be 'held together' with bandage-like wrappings and metal plating.

It is incredibly single-minded. It chooses to focus on a single target, honing in on them and ruthlessly pursing them until said chosen target is destroyed. This can be both advantageous and not. While it may be easier to deal with this beast whilst it is focused on its current target and thus blind to all else — one would not wish to be the focus of this beast.

It does, however, appear only destructive in nature. It would be highly advised to use some kind of breathing apparatus when dealing with this beast.

Known Methods of Successful Curing:

— Death.

NARA'A SUNVARA

— Sleeper Name: Nara'a Sunvara.
— Sleeper Blood Type: Coldblood.
— Beast Height: Approx. 9ft. 5ins.
— Beast Strengths: Extremely powerful strength; capable of great speed; powerful jumping ability; armoured.
— Beast Weaknesses: Weak turning radius; internal organs become vulnerable whilst roaring; reduced intelligence; animalistic instincts.
— Classification: XXXX

A quadrupedal feline beast, which stands almost twice the height of most humans. It is entirely covered with white fur, with yellow-gold eyes and red-flecked eyes. In addition, this beast bears leather armour on both its shoulders and forelegs.

Do not be fooled by the feline appearance of this particular beast. It is powerful and quick, much like the big cats of the mundane animal kindgom it appears similar to. In addition, it is heavily armoured and has has claws and teeth to attack with — providing strong offense and defence. Readers are reminded that much like those wild animals, this beast is incredibly dangerous and should not be approached unless by specialists persons.

This beast uses its agility to its advantage, prone to jumping and pouncing to catch others unaware and will use its environment to propel itself around an area with ease, such as kicking itself off trees to turn. That being said, due to its size, it is noted to have a slow turning rate, which may buy precious time in attempting to escape.

RAMONA DERWIN

— Sleeper Name: Ramona Derwin.
— Sleeper Blood Type: Unknown.
— Beast Height: 20ft. - 25ft.
— Beast Strengths: High agility; supernatural strength; sharp claws for mauling.
— Beast Weaknesses: Deer.
— Classification: XXXX

The First Sleeper. Known first as Ramona Derwin, the Sleepers of Deerington chose to awaken Ramona when deciding upon the fates of the Guardians. When the dream collapsed, so did whatever was left of Ramona's mind. She became rapidly corrupt and soon fell to Beasthood and has remained that way ever since. She became thus known as 'Deerlona'.

A huge, bipedal creature with twisted deer-like horns, matted fur and a malnourished, skeletal figure. It emits shrieks that sound like cries of agony. Residing in the ruins of Sleepy Town, it is extremely prone to violence, and will attack any one who enters the place. It is incredibly difficult to fight, and it is advised not to approach them.

Despite their aggression and instinct towards violence, Deerlona has been known to treat deer kindly. Sleepers have recently been able to communicate through the deer with them. There was also recently an enterprise of those Sleepers who entered through the Seventh Door to reconnect with their ability gifted to them by Ramona: to turn into spirit-selves in the form of deer. The author is hoping to reach out and communicate with Deerlona in this form now that this has been achieved.

Known Methods of Successful Curing:

— Unknown. It is reported that Ramona has no interest in being cured.

MICHAEL

— Sleeper Name: Michael.
— Sleeper Blood Type: Darkblood.
— Beast Height: 6ft. 2ins.
— Beast Strengths: Extremely large in size; capable of shoot large, destructive beams of light.

This beast takes on the form of a giant pillar of light, with several wings. While not a beast that attacks in a physical manner with claws, its offense comes in the form of a magical one. It is capable of shooting powerful beans of light, which will incinerate anything it touches.

In terms of behaviour, this beast is generally peaceful if left alone. However, it hones in on the wrong-doings of others and will actively attack if it catches someone doing something it 'perceives as wrong'. Innocent parties will be left alone. It is incredibly protective of friends, and will attack anyone trying to do its friends harm. In some way, it is reminiscent of how The Reckoning functions.

Interestingly enough, attacking this beast does not count as a wrong-doing. It will not fight back even if they themselves are attacked.

SHARON DA SILVA

— Sleeper Name: Sharon Da Silva.
— Sleeper Blood Type: Coldblood.
— Beast Height: 7ft.
— Beast Strengths: High defenses; capable of causing momentary blindness; instantaneously burns those within close proximity; capable of levitation.
— Beast Weaknesses: Slow speed; wings are weak spot; low offensive powers; vulnerable to long-distance attacks; vulnerable to multiple opponents.

With milk-white skin and flayed flesh, this beast is humanoid in appearance. The face is hidden away by what appears to be a metallic mask which seems to obscure its vision. Its legs are fused into a fin-like appendage and there are a pair of large, sheer butterfly wings emerging from under the shoulder blades.

This beast does not lash out and pays no mind to the beings that might be around it. Anything within a ten-foot radius of it will instantly catch fire and begin to burn. Like the sun, to stare at it for too long is to end up momentarily blinded and disoriented.

If attacked, it will seek out its attacker and attempt to embrace them. In addition, the radius at which things burn grows an additional ten feet. It's advised to attack from a distance and disable its wings to ground it. Avoid close-range attacks. Best to be dealt with by multiple Hunters to divide its attention in hopes of curing.

VIKTOR

— Sleeper Name: Viktor.
— Sleeper Blood Type: Paleblood.
— Beast Height: Approx. 7ft.
— Beast Strengths: Largely impervious metallic body; utilises unstable arcane forces which causes a magical offense against it providing unstable results; able to manipulate surrounding machinery; cable wiring can lash out and drag people in from a few foot radius around it.
— Beast Weaknesses: Physically slow; magical instability can also harm the Beast; single-minded behaviours allowing easy strategies with some creative thinking to deal with; incredibly loud — thus easy to spot.
— Classification: XXX

This creature is only vaguely humanoid in shape, made mostly of metals and shifting wiring in the exposed areas. The metal is largely scrap, dented and rusted in places, making every movement loud and creaking — making this Beast very easy to spot. The arms, legs and torso aren't quite right proportion-wise: too long, but the only truly inhuman area is the head. The neck leads to a massive tangle of wires and metal debris wrapped in a writhing mass with a single light that mimics a right eye.

It isn't aggressive immediately, though a close enough approach may trigger it to attack. It is drawn to people with technology, robotic elements, or strong magical presence. Someone doing a spell or using some form of technology would likely be targeted. It uses the cables that make it up to wrap around the target and pull them in closer, where they will slowly be taken apart.

— Sleeper Name: Darth Maul.
— Sleeper Blood Type: Vileblood.
— Beast Height: 8ft. 10ins.
— Beast Strengths: Highly aggressive and hateful that culminates in an incredibly driven nature; actively and tirelessly hunts those he has had negative experiences with; driven by hunger.
— Beast Weaknesses: Highly paranoid; hesitates before attacking those he cares about; easily distracted; capricious nature.

A towering half-humanoid, half-arachnid creature, the lower half if which being that of a spider and upper half being humanoid, with sharp teeth and arms — which end in blades. It is coloured red and black, similar to the usual Zabrak colouring of this particular Sleeper. However, this is where the similarities end.

This creature is highly aggressive in nature and is incredibly food-driven, seeking out any living creature as prey for sustenance. It is unable to verbally communicate, and relies heavily on animal instincts. While constantly on the hunt for the next meal, this creature is also easily distracted by just about anything that catches his attention, which may be used to an advantage in dealing with this Beast.

While this Beast will attack all in its path — it does show true recognition of those it encounters. It will show high levels of violence and hostility to those this Sleeper holds a low relationship with. On the other hand, it will hesitate those this Sleeper loves and cares for. Its attacks are generally agility-based — surprising targets with a blitz attack before using its strength to try to land a fatal blow, using its sharp teeth or the scythe-like blades that make up its arms. The Beast is not quick to retreat and is incredibly persistent in pursuing targets, until they are either dead or they successfully fight it off.

CHO HAKKAI

— Sleeper Name: Cho Hakkai
— Sleeper Blood Type: Paleblood.
— Beast Height: 6ft.
— Beast Strengths: Enhanced speed; enhanced durability; the ability to generate masses of vines from tattoos/markings all over his body, which move independently and can be controlled by him; fangs; claws.
— Beast Weaknesses: Fire; general Human weaknesses, despite enhanced durability.

This Beast form of this Sleeper is their demonic form, an ability/power from their native world. However, the effects of Beasthood on this Sleeper magnifies this ability to the dangerous extremes that Beasthood is known for. This includes the lack of mental capacity, and tendency towards violence and destruction that unfortunate befalls most who fall victim to Beasthood.

This Beast's abilities are enhanced and incredibly magnified in the form of its vine markings — which cover most his body, being far more numerous, and thus able to generate hundreds of them — which are used to restrain and injure others. They are also used to attack, and caution should be used to avoid the range. Its claws and fangs are far more longer and sharper, and it fights in a general martial arts style, augmented with energy attacks.

TAKASHI SHIROGANE

— Sleeper Name: Takashi 'Shiro' Shirogane.
— Sleeper Blood Type: Warmblood.
— Beast Height: 6ft. 2ins.
— Beast Strengths: Skilled in hand-to-hand combat; indestructible right hand; enhanced speed; enhanced durability; enhanced strength.
— Beast Weaknesses: Friendship & loved ones; similar weaknesses as a typical human, albeit stronger and durable.

This Beast takes on a humanoid appearance of the Sleeper, with stark physical differences. Instead of usual human skintones, this Beast appears in monochrome, surrounded by smoke or ink-like wisps which curl from its body. In addition, there are flickers of itself, that move close to it, in a sort of way that one might believe they are struck with double vision.

It moves in stops and starts, like a glitching video, proving difficult to keep track of when paired with its enhanced speed. It fights typically using hand-to-hand combat, with its right hand being favoured as its weapon, due to its indestructible nature. Given that, care should be take here, much like any would with claws or teeth. This Beast has high levels of strength and durability, and will be relentless in a fight.

That being said, this Beast is only hostile if provoked or if goaded into fights, which it will throw itself into with abandon. When not provoked, this Beast is otherwise just generally destructive of property in terms of its behaviour.

PETER GRAHAM

— Sleeper Name: Peter Graham.
— Sleeper Blood Type: Darkblood.
— Beast Height: 20 ft, incl. neck length.
— Beast Strengths: Ability of flight and moving very quickly in the air; necks and tail have long reach and are capable of quick movement; large claws and teeth capable of goring, maiming, and quickly eating; capable of breathing fire.
— Beast Weaknesses: Large size may make it an easy target against smaller, faster Beasts; long necks may be easily vulnerable to attack; scales are softer on belly, which is its weak point; anxious mannerism makes it easily nervous and prone to upset.
— Classification: X

A large, two-headed, dragon-like Beast. Has black scales and is very thin and serpentine in girth, with a long, snakelike tail and large leathery wings. Each head possesses a pair of sharp horns.

While the rating of 'X — Peaceful' may raise some eyebrows, there are particular considerations to take into account. Peaceful Beasts should, like all Beasts, be minded and considered with caution. In comparison to many Beasts, this one is not at all openly aggressive. It is easily spooked and very nervous, prone to fleeing and attempting to hide away rather than engaging in confrontation. One head is noticeably more bitey than its twin and may be prone to setting things / people on fire if the dragon itself becomes upset, but overall, this Beast is not much of a threat and prefers to be left alone where it can spend its time napping in secure, dark spaces, such as caves. It has a ravenous appetite and may eat people, not out of aggression, but simply because this Beast is so hungry.

This Beast also seems to be particularly enamoured with gold or shiny objects; this could be used to calm or guide the heads either separately or together. They may also try to guard/hoard those who are close to Peter or the demon Paimon and "dragonnap" them. The author has experienced this first hand.

If, on rare occasion, this Beast does actually engage in battle, it has the capability to cause considerable damage with its tail, sharp teeth and claws, and the one head's propensity to set things on fire. While its necks and tail can move very quickly, its body is noticeably slower on land, but extremely swift in the sky.

FIDDLEFORD MCGUCKET

— Sleeper Name: Fiddleford McGucket.
— Sleeper Blood Type: Coldblood.
— Beast Height: 5ft. (at shoulder).
— Beast Strengths: Flight; excellent climbing skill; sharp teeth and tusks for goring; eyes emit light for (marginally) better visibility; electricity manipulation.
— Beast Weaknesses: No object permanence; short term memory; very poor eyesight; easily confused/overwhelmed.

This Beast is chimeric in form, consisting of attributes from a possum, a pig and a pterodactyl — which is a kind of dragon-like dinosaur. It is very loud: one might know it's coming before it is seen, due to its tendency to screech, squeal, snort and hiss. It is also incredibly mobile, and will climb walls and perch on roofs and jump between buildings. Despite its large size it could best be described as 'scuttling' or 'skittering' and will move in an odd, twitchy way that seems almost reptilian.

It is highly aggressive and considers everyone and everything a threat, and will attack before anything else. Because of its poor eyesight, it is highly alert toward motion and sounds; one of the best ways to get away from it is to hide and be very quiet and wait for it to simply forget it was chasing anything in the first place. It will also purposefully bait attackers and seems to actively seek out and target crowded areas.

However, it is worth nothing that despite its attention-seeking nature, this Beast also hates to be perceived, which is a great combination! It curiously makes sense for a contradictory nature in a chimera.

— Sleeper Name: Keith.

— Beast Weaknesses: Lack of spatial awareness; lack of self-awareness; unable to understand language; prone to berserker rages with loss of control.

A Beast of indeterminate species. It is difficult to tell what it is, whether canine or feline or even reptilian to some extent. It alternates between walking on all fours and hunched over on its hind legs. There is no hair or fur, but a thick and heavy hide, with a thick, short tail.

In terms of behaviour, this Beast is essentially feral. Generally, it will not attack unless provoked. However, it is provoked extremely easily, and will attack indiscriminately once agitated. It does not single out the person who provoked it but it will attack whoever is nearby, including bystanders. Caution is highly advised to avoid provoking, and it should be given a wide berth.

Its massive claws are its primary weapons, and possesses dagger-like teeth which can bite through metal. Its fight style is aggressive and feral, with no particular technique but rather a very animalistic feel to its movements and choices.

SANSA STARK

— Sleeper Name: Sansa Stark.
— Sleeper Blood Type: Paleblood.
— Beast Height: Collective shadow of 2000ft.
— Beast Strengths: Intangibility; enhanced speed; highly strategic and evasive; each raven capable of posession or 'warging', imitating the perception of a person the Sleeper knows.
— Beast Weaknesses: Easily startled/frightened; identifiable to those with able to identify souls; possession can be expelled sufficiently skilled Paleblood mages.

A Beast which takes the form of a gigantic collective shadow of some thousand ravens, each raven possessing an additional, huge eye at their center. These ravens are able to come together, forming a shadow of the Sleeper — dressed finely in a specific outfit from the Sleeper's home.

These ravens have the ability to possess others, and can even mimic those their possess. However, it should be notes that this will not be a genuine presentation of the victim, but will act in a manner that is based upon the Sleeper's perception of that person. These ravens can ultimately be expelled, but requires a skilled mage who possesses Paleblood to do so.

It should be specifically noted that this experience of Beasthood was not considered 'true Beasthood'. An offering of blood made to the Slumbering One in recent times caused a temporary, peaceful shift into Beasthood — where the Sleeper retained their mind. Because of this, more research is needed to uncover the true behaviours of this Beast.

In addition to this, while the shift back from Beasthood occurred without outside intervention after a period of twenty-four hours had passed, there are currently no known tested methods of curing. However, this Sleeper holds a Familiar Blood Bond Pact with another Sleeper for expressed purpose of curing Beasthood, should it occur.

DEER COUNTRY INVENTORY

DEERINGTON

A full list for Luna's inventory acquired in Deerington can be found here. Her inventory was carried forward into Deer Country, as her house came along with her into the city of Trench. However, notable items from Deerington include:

— Helga; a husky-like wolf dog originally owned by Newt Scamander and later inherited by Luna. Acquired in the December 2018 event. Helga looks like a bigger, sturdier breed of husky. She is resistant to the cold, and her paws are indestructible. They have sharp vision, and they're very tame, and very intelligent to the point its as is she perfectly understands human speech. She is naturally nurturing to those who need aid, and eager to follow Luna — incredibly loyal to her owner.

Bites from Helga can't be cured. They'll leave someone violently disoriented and disjointed. People won't remember how to communicate with others, and they won't be able to remember how to eat or drink. It won't take very long for people who have been bitten to die of exposure or otherwise.

— The Dream Hunter; a magical bow gifted to Luna from Ramona Derwin. This bow and arrows set is made entirely from the same energy that makes up dream guides. The bow itself will appear as is with seemingly no arrows. When the bow is drawn, a whispy light-arrow will appear at the ready. These arrows can kill most monsters and individuals, with an indefinite amount of arrows.

— A Crystal Deer Skull; originally owned by Alice Quinn, later given to Luna after she left. Currently kept within Luna's potions room. When the skull is hung in a room, it will make it a safe haven from any horror happening in Deerington. Enemies that invade homes will not be able to enter the room with the skull in it no matter how strong their abilities are. Any Deerington created illness or malady will not progress while in the room with the skull. It will soothe emotional turmoil and alleviate physical pain, though it will not heal any injuries. The skull will give the room a faint, golden glow and anyone inside the room will feel extreme peace.

The skull can be moved to different rooms or houses. It will only protect one room at a time. If it is hung on the front door, it will protect the first room in the home only. The skull can be broken, so it must be kept safely stored or securely hung on a wall so that it doesn't fall. Once it has broken, even if it's just a crack, the skull will become useless.

— Luna's Hogwarts Trunk; gifted by Sodder to Luna through a sacrifice to the Blessings Basket. Its contents can be found here. In addition, there are also some of Luna's other school textbooks that were asked for on a previous occasion.

— Queliot; a magical rabbit from the Magicians-universe, given to Luna by Diarmuid in November 2021. This Fillorian rabbit is capable of teleporting distances, even through universes, and delivering very short messages — no more than a few words. He sounds comically like a raspy old man.

— Moon Barette; gifted to Luna from Usagi for Christmas 2021.

— An Outfit; a fine outfit consisting of a lavender coloured dress, with a pair of heeled shoes. Gifted by Madam Generosity, January 2022.

— A Solid Gold Acorn; Luna asked for this from Paimon in a demon deal.

— The Blade of Agency; gifted to Luna on her Blessed Day by her Patron, Doorway — February 2022. This is not a traditional sword. It will pass through anything... keyword being pass. It does not draw blood nor does it leave physical damage. What it does is drain someone's emotions. Use this sword on an enemy and cutting them enough times with it will draw them to insanity. You can cut through people's emotions, hurting them deeper than you ever could with a real blade. One should be cautious if they use the blade against someone they have a close relationship with. It is said that the blade can sever relationships by literally cutting someone off of their emotions for you.

The Blade can be used by anyone, but those with Paleblood and Warmblood will find they can cause greater damage with the sword. The Blade of Agency can be used to cut through a beast and bring someone back from Beasthood though it may cause temporary amnesia. It cannot be broken. It can be lost.

— Promise Ring; 'He's not sure if it's a custom that witches and wizards have, but in the Muggle world, serious couples often give each other Promise Rings to signify an important bond. It's an innocent thing in its ways, but also extremely significant, as it's meant to symbolise a commitment to someone and a promise of a future together.' A delicate silver ring with a pale, iridescent gemstone. It fits Luna perfectly. Made and gifted by Peter Graham, for Luna's Birthday, February 2022.

— Moon Drop; A highly valuable stone that can completely cure Beasthood, blood pollution, injuries, and even bring one back from death. Gained only if at least three challenges are completed with the survival of two or more characters in a group and the escape from the Catacombs Completion considering "surviving" them. To those who have it used on them, they may experience hallucinations and a commune with Moon presence, feeling as though she is in your head. Won by Luna after winning the Rushing Rivers (Scorpia, Maul + Rose), Chronology of the Seasons (Clarisse + Varian), Untouchable Temptations (Neopolitan), Til Death Do Us Part (Wanda + The Operator), March 2022. Used July 2022.

— An Outfit; Gifted by Madam Generosity, January 2023.

— Two Rose Pins; gifted to Luna on her Blessed Day by her Patron, Doorway — February 2023. These rose pins are connected to one another through blood magic, allowing the wearers to find one another wherever they may be. It will place a string of light only visible to the wearers between the two that can stretch across any distance. The light will glow a bright, calm white when both parties are safe. If one of the parties is in danger, it will start to turn a yellow-orange. When they are actively injured or dying, it will burn a deep red. Following the light will always bring you exactly to where they are, even if they can not be seen, or are lost in the Other Trench. The string of light will only disappear if one of the parties wearing the pin dies or returns to the sea (drops from the game). The pin can be lost, so be careful with it! It can not be destroyed. It can be given to different people to be worn at different times, but will only ever connect two individuals to one another at a time. It can not be connected to other rose pins, only the rose pin it was originally given with as a pair.

CORRUPTION STAGES

STAGE ONE

—MENTAL Luna will be suffering from insomnia; having difficulty focusing and will be easily confused. Some tasks will be easier to do than others, but anything that requires a great deal of mental input like studying or reading will prove difficult. She will also become easily emotional and prone to getting upset and tearful if she lets her emotions get the better of her. Instances of accidental magic may occur.

—PHYSICAL Physically, Luna will appear as if she looks unwell, as if she's experiencing some flu-like symptoms. She will be tired, and pale in appearance, her eyes a little sunken and darkened as if she's not been sleeping well. Most notably, her eyes seem to shimmer pearly white on occasion when caught in certain light, similar to that of animals.

STAGE TWO

—MENTAL In addition to the same symptoms of Stage One, Luna will have a predisposition toward negative thoughts and a general loss of optimism. Instances of accidental magic are more likely.

—PHYSICAL Luna's appearance becomes generally more unwell, with additional notes that her facial structure becomes a little more pointed and gaunt. Her hair becomes limp and loses its curls, looking more unkempt and wild. The occasional pearlescent shimmer to her eyes is now more prominent/noticeable.

STAGE THREE

—MENTAL Complete switch from a highly emotional state to a cold, indifferent state. Luna loses any softness or kindness to her; she will be indifferent to positive/close CR and will act antagonistically towards neutral and negative CR. She will be more prone to ruthless violence with negative CR and accidental magic will likely be more violent and deadly to be around.

—PHYSICAL In addition to symptoms in Stage Two, Luna's nails will become elongated and claw-like. Her teeth sharper, with more prominent eye-teeth. Black veins may appear around eyes and mouth. Her hair seems to clump together and seem less like the appearance of hair. Luna may also find herself with deer antlers beginning to grow. The longer she is in this stage of Corruption, the longer they will become, but will not advance further than the antlers of a first year buck.

STAGE FOUR

—MENTAL Some of the above symptoms are carried forward, plus: her lean towards violence will now give her recklessness and a lack of self-preservation but also a complete lack of fear. She may now act aggressive even to her closest of CR, neutral and negative CR will face an extreme kind of hostility. She will be difficult to see reason and acts blindly.

—PHYSICAL With the above, new developments include: her hair seems to be almost entirely made up of appendages, fairly similar to that of the Moon Presence. Some seem to move on their own accord. Her antlers will grow more to that of a 20-month old buck.

STAGE FIVE

Beasthood. Luna will appear to disapparate into a huge, ever-shifting, almost smoke-like black mass. After a moment or two, she will begin to 'crawl' out of the mass into her beasthood form. She takes the appearance of a quadrupedal monster that appears to be a mix of deer and wolf, dark in colour. The beast has huge paws, with incredibly sharp claws and it's head appears to be that of a wolf skull, with iridescent, glowing eyes — streams of light lifting from them like smoke. The beast also has a mass of sharp antlers, which can be used to gore, along with a mass of appendage-like hair that moves on its own accord — similar to that of Moon Presence.

While not the biggest of beasts, there's no doubt in the strength of it. In behaviour, this beast is extremely violent and volatile. And will behave as much as a wild animal does, without rational thought and will attack furiously with claws and antlers. It can also perform acts of random accidental magic in the form of explosions, stuns and burnings — but these are often wild and dangerous. The chance of collateral damage is high.

If left alone, the beast will be somewhat docile and will not actively seek out Sleepers/Trenchies to hurt or harm. Luna can be returned from beasthood via death, the Blade of Agency, her blood-bond with Peter Graham, or any other items gifted in game that will reverse beasthood. It is also possible to talk her down from attacking, but only via very positive/close CR.

A georgian-style townhouse with three floors, plus a cellar. Narrow rooms, old hardwood flooring and an overall cosy but slightly cluttered feel to the place. Luna's taken a great deal of care in making the home feel her own after inheriting it initially from Newt and Theseus, but there's elements of Trench here too in dated appliances and furniture. There's plenty of cosy corners and nooks all over the place, little safe havens to relax. Not to mention quite a lot of books.

The ground floor includes a living room, kitchen, pantry, bathroom and a dining room, along with access to the cellar. First floor is both Luna and Peter's bedrooms, a third spare bedroom, bathroom and Luna's 'Potions Room', where she keeps her ingredient store and other important items. The top floor is largely disused, containing a master bedroom with en-suite, a spare bedroom which will be converted into a greenhouse of sorts, a small study / library and an informal 'hang out' area. There is also a small attic room, mostly used for access to the roof, although Paimon likes to go up there a great deal and has essentially coveted the space as his own ~~for demon related business~~.

GROUND FLOOR

LIVING ROOM

This room remains probably the closest to how those who knew Newt left it. There's something almost Edwardian to the furniture, but the room is a lot more cluttered that it once was. Decorated in rich, dark tones, it's a very cosy and warm room. A roaring fire is almost always going in the colder months, which adds to that effect. Comfortable sofas and a single arm chair crowd round the fire, a coffee table situated in the middle of them. Bookshelves line several of the walls, filled with all sorts of books. In one end of the room, a chess table sits. This isn't any ordinary chess set, though. This is Wizard's Chess, which anyone who decides to play will quickly find out.

Helga can be found in here often, lounging in her bed in one corner of the room near the chess table, or more preferably stretched out before the fireplace. She is a very good girl, and will pester all visitors for scritches. ... This is also one of the many places that Paimon will scurry into the ceiling, on occasion. Sometimes he just... goes up there and clucks and speaks in ancient tongues. He's fine.

KITCHEN

You can absolutely tell a witch lives here, or certainly someone who embraces the cottagecore witchy vibes one might find on pinterest. Luna, in fact, does not know what a pinterest is but she might be amused the kitchen looks like it. It's a cosy, cluttered place. Herbs and such hang from the ceiling to dry out; there are shelves for herbs and spices and pantry staples, Luna's baking supplies, plenty of cooking utensils, recipe books. There's a lot going on.

Much of it is dated, both the kitchen cabinets and appliances, but there are a few modern appliances like a microwave (almost entirely used by Peter) and fridge-freezer. Luna has also give the place her own decorative twist by painting the kitchen cupboards with flowers and animals and patterns. This place always seems to smell good, even if no cooking is happening. It's very Luna vibes in here.

A door leads to a small pantry, along with the access to the cellar, while another one leads to the house's small back yard. While there's a dining room in the house, just off from the kitchen, there's a small, round kitchen table with a few wooden chairs. There is also a small hutch that houses Queliot, a talking rabbit from the land of Fillory — who was given to Luna by Diarmuid to care for before he returned to the ocean.

FIRST FLOOR

LUNA'S ROOM

If there were a word to describe Luna's room, it would be cosy. A safe haven from the horrors of Deerington and Trench, Luna's bedroom is a warmly lit space. The walls are painted a soft yellow, with many of them adorned with hand-painted murals by Luna of flowers, and creatures both Muggle and Magical: foxes and hares, unicorns and occamies. There is a great deal of 'mood lighting' too: strings of fairy lights and various kind of low-light objects, like her moon lamp on her bedside, or the jars filled with tiny phosphorus lights stored within bookshelves, or magical light encased in crystal suspended from the ceiling. It's an incredibly calm and inviting place.

Much of the furniture is dated to around the British Edwardian era, or maybe just after. Other than her bed and beside, there's a long dresser with a mirror fixed atop it. There's also Luna's desk, which is filled with jar of drawing tools: paints, pencils, pens, jars of beads and little boxes of her sewing and knitting equipment. It's an incredibly busy space, but it's kept neat and tidy for the most part. Like with most of the house, there's a few bookshelves in Luna's room too: filled with both books and little nooks and spaces for Luna's treasures she's bought or been gifted. Her Hogwarts trunk sits at the bottom of her bed, much like when it did at Hogwarts. There is even space in one corner for some huge pillows on a raised, cushioned spot, more fairy lights decorated around it — a little reading nook, or somewhere for Paimon to sit quietly when he's allowed in Luna's room.

PETER'S ROOM

~~The Depression Pit.~~ As of January 2023, Peter's room has undergone a little decorating project thanks to Luna. Gone are the piles of dirty laundry and small hoards of forgotten trash. Peter's new room is almost unrecognisable compared to how it had once been to those who've been in here before.

While the walls are coated in white paint to freshen them up and make them look a little more modern with the house's older architecture, the ceiling, however, Luna has painted to look like the stars in the night sky. There's something a little magical about it, too. Quite literally. The ceiling mural looks incredibly real, the stars twinkle, or the odd one will shoot across the space at intervals. Even some actual constellations can be picked out at times. Like with her own room, Luna's added some of her own touches of fairy lights and trio of little jars in different sizes filled with magical phosphorus lights to sit on a shelf to make the place a little chill and cosy. It's a bit more of a muted kind of cosy compared to Luna's room, but it's a pretty nice place to be.

Peter's room is home to several of his items from home: his telescope sits in a corner closest to the window. His guitar and electronic keyboard are set up in another. His record player sits on one side of his desk. Another.... 'noticeable' point of interest is the small tank that sits on top of his chest of drawers, housing a two-headed fish (their names are 'Lu' and 'Na', thanks Paimon.

LUNA'S POTIONS ROOM

A room few people go into, if any. Not even Peter goes in here. It's kept locked up tight, and arguably both the most precious and safest room in the entire house. It is protected by a crystal deer skull which has been placed inside of it. Gifted to her by Alice Quinn, who first received it from Sodder's Blessings Basket in Deerington, the skull will make the room a safe haven from any horror happening in Trench. Enemies that invade homes will not be able to enter the room with the skull in it no matter how strong their abilities are. Any Trench created illness or malady will not progress while in the room with the skull. It will soothe emotional turmoil and alleviate physical pain, though it will not heal any injuries. The skull will give the room a faint, golden glow and anyone inside the room will feel extreme peace.

It's no wonder she chose this room to keep safe. Luna's Potions room houses both all her magical workings, and some of the most precious items she owns: items from home, ingredients and magical texts, her research on Paimon and the more occult forms of magic, her potion stocks. Once a bedroom, Luna converted the space so she could have a secure room to work in, given both the delicate nature of potion-making and the sensitive information that's housed in here. There's little furniture in it other than a desk with two stools, benches and shelves that house her belongings. It's a pretty busy room, but everything has its place and it's kept in order.

ATTIC

THE ATTIC

For the longest amount of time, the attic was an unused space, other than for Luna to use as a way to access the roof. That is... until Paimon decided to frequent the space often enough and wanted to use it and keep it as his own, out of the way of the rest of the household. Luna agreed, and Paimon keeps a great deal of his treasures up here. It's almost like a little magpie's nest of things he's collected from both Deerington and Trench, some look harmless enough, others might be a little more unsettling, like dead animals, bones and jars containing dubious contents. He's crafted himself a little comfortable, albeit spooky space that is his — with Luna helping him decorate it with some fairy lights and soft furnishings for him. You don't really want to go up there, unless Paimon insists.... and well, even then... do you really want to?

RELATIONSHIPS WITH PEERS

At her core, Luna remains much of the same person she was when she first came to Deerington. However, she has undergone huge changes in her personal life which has allowed growth in areas where she'd been lacking. Perhaps the biggest change for Luna is her relationships with others her own age. While loneliness and her solitary existence does underlie in her friendships of Deerington, the fact she has grown herself a circle of friends and positive relationships with countless others is a huge change for a girl who comes from a family largely dismissed by the British Wizarding World. While not something that's changed her as a person, per se, it has allowed Luna to develop deep and meaningful relationships with others, giving her room to share her friendship with them in ways she hadn't before.

Her relationship with Peter Graham has been the most transformative. Initially one born out of two lonely outcasts helping one another through the difficult times Deerington would bring, they began to lean on one another for comfort and safety, particularly in their time in Rapture — they found they could have the experience of one another's company for their own personal enjoyment following their return to the town. With Peter, Luna has been allowed to explore parts of friendship she'd yet to explore with her canon friendships. How to be comforted by a peer, to explore physical affection (both platonic and then later romantic) with someone her own age and to enjoy the 'usual' teenage experiences she'd barely touched upon in canon. With Peter, she's experienced dates, going to dances, and mostly what it means to just 'hang out' with someone. She's become less ignorant of these experiences, and while it's been nice that these have been new things for her — it's become important for her to understand and go through these before she reaches adulthood; to be able to have the mundane moments of a personal relationship like anyone else. To have a best friend, to fall in love with someone — to be one another's 'person'. They give one another a safe space to just be, to be emotionally vulnerable, to explore friendship and romance at their own pace — even with its difficulties of demonic possession thrown into the mix.

Her relationship with Peter has brought a feeling of acceptance in her that while she thought she didn't need, has greeted warmly. It's nice to not be lonely, to not be pushed out by others. Peter's acceptance, and ultimately, love for her has been a driving force. She will quite literally go to ends of the earth for him; she made a deal with the demon possessing him to try to save his soul from being pushed out; she will protect him the best she can, do anything to keep him. He's become one of the most important people in her life, and he will always have her love and her loyalty. And in the end, it is her love for Peter which plays a vital role in her choosing to remain, in deciding not to go back home to the Wizarding World. She chooses to remain with him, to choose a new path with him — and set out on the next 'adventure' together.

While Peter is her closest relationship, she has also formed a close circle of friendships with others her age — relationships she has found safe spaces of acceptance and kinship.

Diarmuid has become one of closest and most-trusted friends after Peter. She was struck by his selfless kindness when they first interacted, and instantly drawn to his friendship in an otherwise strange dreamworld. The two of them have both been slowly learning about modern life (with Diarmuid being from the past and Luna coming from 90's Wizarding World Britain) and give each other both gentle encouragement and a safe space to experience modern living, never judging one another. He was the first one she ever told about the state of her world, and the ongoing Wizarding War and gently encouraged her to tell Peter about it — something she would finally bring herself to do and be honest with Peter about the difficult parts of her life. He was also the first person she ever told her true feelings about Peter, too. He's very much a confidant of hers, someone she can go to when she worries she burdens Peter too much.

Her friendship with the demi-god Clarisse La Rue is a little more complicated; often strained at times, they've been slowly working their way through their friendship — an odd choice of a bullied teenager, and the bully themselves. They have a mutual respect of one another as people who can fight as their common ground, but have their own insecurities about the friendships they have in Deerington. This came to light when Luna was infected with a Traitor Parasite and attacked Clarisse, completely believing that the older girl was only pretending to befriend her and that her true intentions were far more malicious, highlighting the insecurities of her past experiences with peers back home. Luna's words cut a few raw nerves with Clarisse's own insecurities just as hard as the physical wounds — and she ended up succumbing to her injuries. The two made up once Luna came to her senses and Clarisse had returned from the dead after a painfully frank conversation but they're trying their best to move forwards in a friendship that isn't always such smooth sailing.

Fern is also one of her oldest friends from her time in Deerington, and it's a friendship that's had its ups and downs much like her relationship with Clarisse. After attacking and injuring Luna during an incident aboard the Titanic, he harbours an immense amount of guilt which Luna has always forgiven him for — something Fern hasn't been so easy to accept and feels he has to make up for. They have a generally great friendship; have fought side by side on occasion and following her pact with Paimon (and Fern swearing fealty to Paimon as his knight), Fern considers her his "boss's boss". She's loyal to him as much as he is to her, both fiercely so. She's tried to teach him alternative ways of dealing with things rather than resorting to violence (and even encourage him to subdue rather than kill) but she also accepts and understands Fern's origins of being a combination of the Grass and Finn Swords — and doesn't seek to actively change who he is and how he functions. She also became aware of Grass Demon, part of Fern, and is one of the few people who is actually positive in her reactions towards the creature. Her knowledge and amicable relationship with Grass Demon (along with her respect of Grass Demon as a being) has actually spurred on a protectiveness of Fern — something which came forward when Jon, Varian and Glitch trapped Grass Demon in the Great Sleep, a move which ultimately killed Fern. Luna has found it hard to forgive the others (if she even can) and it's been one of the few instances where she's not been as easily to forgive — something that has caused some friction between her and Fern.

Her friendship with Ruby in particular has been a hugely transformative for her, too. Coming from universes where the state of the world is bleak, with war and magic — Luna and Ruby are both two young, teenaged girls thrown in the middle of it all. They both understand what it's like to carry heavy weights on their shoulders, to know their lives are always in danger. Being able to talk to someone her own age in similar circumstances has been both freeing and a comfort to Luna. But with that, Ruby has offered Luna the more mundane and teenage-related aspects of friendships. Ruby is the closest thing Luna has to a girl-friend, who she can talk about her personal life with and enjoy 'normal' things with. Not only that, Ruby is a valuable ally in battle, too. They two of them have fought together on several occasions; they have one another's backs and Luna has a sense on camaraderie with her in that respect. They're opposites in some ways: if Luna is the moon, then Ruby is the sun — but they both have a determination that borders on stubbornness and while they both worry for one another, they both understand that it's not so easy to stand down.

PARENTAL FIGURES

It is not just peers she has been able to form meaningful relationships with in her time in Deerington. Coming from a world where a great deal of adults cannot be relied upon and often let down by those in charge (and thus having to rely upon themselves), Luna has found herself able to trust adults again. Having found herself in the home of Newt Scamander, she became a permanent resident there — kept under the wing of Newt and his brother Theseus, sort of adopting her and becoming paternal figures to her over time. She and Newt bonded over their love of magical creatures, and Luna became an apprentice — helping him with his creatures and the ones of Deerington, giving her the space to nurture her own interests in Magizoology. Theseus offered her steady support and comfort, and while sterner than his younger brother, was a more structured kind of parenting she no longer had back home after her mother's death.

In the brothers, she found people from her own world — adults — that she could rely on. Ones outside of her family that would offer her affection and familial support — they became her family. She could lean on them, and they could lean on her in turn. It was an important first step in allowing Luna to develop those familial relationships with other adults. People like Ben Dearborn, who became another father-like figure — a quiet, fussing sort who enjoyed learning as much as Luna does — someone who Luna gave her life to save, experiencing her first death in Deerington. Ben was there with her to the end; she wasn't afraid of dying, but rather dying alone, in some sad silence. He offered her kind words, let her go as peacefully as allowed.

Another prominent relationship is with exorcist John Constantine. While they'd interacted on occasion, and had a pretty decent friendly relationship, Luna stayed under his radar more so after it was revealed she was the one who had conducted a ritual to bond with the demon Paimon. Since then, he's become a go-to of sorts in matters of occult witchcraft, and demonology — something she's been able to look at more under his watch. This soon developed into something more of a paternal role over time: she provides a sunny but grounded presence in his life, while John offers her a caring and comforting presence of home, quiet in his ways, not so quiet in others. When John decided to go MIA in Deerington for a time, it was only when Deerington's events managed to pull them together again that Luna was able to find him, and gave him the verbal beatdown he rightly needed: to express her disappointment and anger towards him, mostly on Peter's behalf, and explain the other parental figures who had left, how she's been let down before by the adults in her life. It severely damaged the trust she had in him, and took a great deal of work to fix things again. Despite this blow, John remains an adult she can trust wholeheartedly ultimately, and one of the few people in Deerington she can trust with Peter and Paimon. Their relationship is a little fragile following her murder in front of him, but certainly not broken. It's not perfect, but it's theirs.

Additionally, her relationship with Cynthia Sodder has also developed her, who became a kind of mother figure of sorts to Luna. With their shared connection of the moon, a connection passed to Sodder (something shared with Luna and her own mother), and their status of being capable of magic — Luna felt a kinship to the woman. She felt deeply upset when she discovered a memory of her kept in Mother Superior's mind, or how the townspeople of Deerington treated her when she was alive — calling her the town witch. While stunned and frightened to discover Cynthia's true form as the Moon Presence following the Moon Sickness she'd suffered when she'd first arrived, it was short-lived when Luna realised the true Cynthia would never harm Sleepers and has in fact loved them all, much like a mother would. Where other Sleepers who became parental figures to Luna would leave, particularly maternal ones like Mrs. Sheringham; or where there was the empty space of a mother for Luna after her own mother's death back home, Cynthia was there. With Sodder's narrative portraying Cynthia as the most idealised form of motherhood, Cynthia became the mother who didn't leave, who didn't die. She was always there. And with that, Luna felt a close parental connection to Cynthia, and with that a great deal of loyalty to her as that mother figure.

But she has also realised, in the end, that Cynthia was more than a mother. She was someone who has never had a choice in her own path, and instead had been treated unkindly for things she never had any true freedom over. Cynthia's treatment and life made Luna realise how much more she deserved, how much better she deserved. That she was not just part of Sodder's story. Her choice to sacrifice her was a difficult one, feeling like she was saying goodbye to her own mother all over again — but it ultimately released both of them from their current paths. Cynthia can have a path outside of the one of a mother, Luna can have a path outside of the one of war and possible death back home — both of them having never yet lived a life they wanted. And while Cynthia will still remain a motherly figure to Luna, and remain someone she feels very closely connected to — she knows Cynthia will always be much more than what she was.

MAGIC

Being in Deerington has exposed Luna to different kinds of magic and she's worked with other magic users over her stay in the town. Initially, her friendships with the Magicians, particularly Alice Quinn was her first in-depth exposure to another form of magic. But there have been others — each of them met with the same kind of genuine curiosity and desire to learn about them. How to attempt them herself, how to incorporate them into her own form of magic and how to share her own magic in those other forms — much like when she taught Alice to cast her own kind of patronus charm. They're experiences she's enjoyed, let her feel accomplished in her own magic, confident in it — and pushes her to continue to work on it.

Arguably her biggest experience with other forms of magic comes in the form her pact with Paimon, and her study of more occult form of witchcraft, in ritual and ceremony — and using magic that comes from a place of intention than something that's fuelled by the magic in her blood. Since then, she's spent a great deal of her time learning about this different kind of magic, often consulting with John on it — and it's become a huge part of her life over the last two years. And while she enjoys the learning experience, becoming invested in something new and unknown, her bond with Paimon is often at times a double-edged sword. It's magic she isn't familiar with, he's a demon she had no prior knowledge of and the situation often feels precarious — something both she and Paimon must learn how to navigate. And it's even terrifying at times: to be part of something much bigger than anything she's ever known and being Paimon's 'summoner' is a huge responsibility, a heavy weight to carry. It's a weight she carries with the utmost seriousness and solemnity — being responsible not only for the demon but to ensure Peter's safety and autonomy. Even with how exciting learning something new is to her, she's often felt out of her depth.

But it comes with other drawbacks. She's slowly seeing herself as someone who as solely capable of dealing with Paimon: a negative trait of her house coming forwards in the form of a kind of haughty superiority. It's something only just emerging with her over-protectiveness of the demon, and the amount of work she's put in with him in terms of research and experience — paired with negative experiences she's had with others Paimon interacts with. In some ways, she doesn't believe most capable of dealing with him properly and trusts few else with the demon. She takes her relationship and bond with the utmost seriousness, respects him as a powerful higher being with his own rules — something she feels others do not. And in turn, her approach in dealing with Paimon has worked; it's been beneficial for the demon — and it confirms her thoughts on her being best suited in helping him.

It's unravelled itself in a kind of cold and dismissive action to her, seeing others as threats to Paimon. She's threatened Varian with magic in order to preserve Paimon's mystery, trying to keep the boy in the dark about the demon out of fear of Varian harming him. Or with Maul, when his quiet threats against Peter were realised and he forcibly manipulated Paimon, unlocking something in the demon — which backfired on Luna — she joined Willow and John in cursing the Sith by magically muzzling him, incorporating her own world's Dark Magic in the spell.

However, she does recognise that while she's learned a great deal over her time in Deerington, she still has much to learn. There's plenty she wants to learn, fuelled by her need to help Peter (and Paimon) as much as she can and her natural inclination towards learning as a Ravenclaw as her motivations — and she sees the journey to the new world as allowing her to continue to learn in the new life she hopes to set out for herself.

Deer Country Attributes

• Canon Powers: Luna will have her full canon magic, but with the Deerington warp of healing magic / potions remaining on the table. In Deerington, potions wouldn't work or have adverse effects. Healing spells would backfire and rebound the pain of the injury two-fold onto Luna. I'd also like to keep Apparition as something she still can't do, either; accidental magic will also be something that will crop up from time to time.
• Blood Type: Paleblood.
• Omen: Black hare.
• Blessed Day: 13th February — Luna's canonical birthday.
• Patron Pthumerian: Doorway — I think she's going to feel quite strongly about this and resonate with Doorway as her Patron. Considering the relationships she's made in Deerington being the reason she's chosen to come to Trench, paired with her valuing honesty — she'll find it quite fitting. Additionally, she's come to Trench having dropped a pretty big truth-bomb to some of her closest CR, so she'll believe that it's possible Doorway's 'chosen her' as one of the Sleepers to give their patronage too.
• Blood Power Manifestation:

MAIN ABILITY: PROPHECY

Luna will have the ability of Prophecy through her blood power. I'd like this to be the weaker ability, but would like to base a lot of it within Harry Potter's canonical Seers. So an additional ability but one that compliments her magic.

— Essentially a prophecy would manifest with very little warning. Luna would go stiff as a board and fall from wherever she stands, her eyes will cloud over with white, and she would begin speaking a prophecy in usually vague / cryptic descriptions in a voice not her own. She will be complete unresponsive during this time. The whole ordeal would be over in a matter of moments and she'll slowly come around, having thought she'd fallen asleep.

— Prophecies would be very uncommon in occurrence, and incredibly random. They won't be something she'll be able to really control, nor will she be able to focus on what the prophecy will be about.

— Luna won't remember her prophecies. She will fall into a trance-like state while she speaks the prophecy, and unless she has someone with her — the prophecy would be otherwise lost.

— The likelihood of prophecies occurring would increase through using the mechanics of the game, purposely using blood magic to try and induce them. However, she still wouldn't be able to control what the prophecy would be about. She can just try to increase the likeliness of them happening, and it's one prophecy per blood magic ritual done. Periods of natural bleeding would be a natural way of increasing likelihood, and she'll most likely be getting prophecies when she is menstruating.

— Examples of prophecies I think could happen within game could be something as simple as things happening within player-plots / cr but if there's mod-approval, I'd like her to pick up on game / plot things in some vague way. I'd possibly use this with information from preludes?

EMOTIONAL / MENTAL

— Like with all Palebloods, Luna will feel much steadier at night and especially when the moon is out / visible. She will feel calmer / braver during these times and more energised, feeling like she can do more with her time. This might lead to some more all-nighters / intense studying sessions as an Arcane Scholar. Unfortunately, this might lead towards Luna falling victim to Corruption as she might become obsessive in her studies, harsher on herself, and take failure poorly.

— Palebloods having an affinity with the moon, paired with Luna's own associations with the moon both personal and magical, and her experiences with Cynthia in Deerington, will also mean Luna will have a strong affinity to Cynthia / Moon Presence in Trench. While she'll be willing to work with Doorway as her Patron and feels strongly towards them, she will have a strong emotional attachment towards the Moon Presence. She'll be more likely to attempt to ask her for help or blessings, or attempt blood sacrifices or offerings to her (please bless her house with flowers, moon mom).

— Luna will often struggle to have an emotional middle ground as a Paleblood. Her 'default' will be 'deeply empathetic', but she will on occasion switch to becoming completely void of emotion at times — often when deeply angered, or in times of grave danger and may need to be 'brought back' to her empathic side. BLOOD USES

— Like with all Palebloods, Luna's blood can be used to make jewellery. Said jewellery will have a soft iridescent glow to it and be cool to the touch, but not unpleasantly so. Because of Luna being a witch, items made from her blood will feel deeply magical, even to those who can't usually sense magic. They'll be a little stronger than average and will be more successful in putting others under calming trances. However, this can increase the risks of Corruption by using them.

— Luna's blood can be used in rituals and sacrifices, and summoning Pthumerians. Being a witch, her blood will be more successful in these uses. Figuratively speaking, as a group of voices — Luna's would be louder over the others. Once again feel deeply magical / sacred when being used.

Additional potential triggers could be her safety being compromised when she's vulnerable (ie. sleeping) or being faced with unimaginable pain.

Additionally, due to her CR with Peter Graham and the demon Paimon, Luna has developed a strong attachment to them both and is highly protective of them. THE STORY SO FAR

Born in the height of the First Wizarding War to Irish Wizards Xenophilius and Pandora Lovegood and brought up just outside of the small village of Ottery St. Catchpole, Devon, much of her early childhood was relatively quiet and peaceful after Voldermort was defeated when she was still an infant. The Lovegoods were always known for being the particularly peculiar sort; kept to their own, indulged in wild and fantastical beliefs and conspiracies with utmost sincerity. Most dismissed them, but they didn't really care.

All was well until her mother died in a magical accident — a spell went awry — when Luna was nine, and she joined Hogwarts (and was subsequently sorted into Ravenclaw) as a child marked different than the others. Children are often cruel, and she was subjected to all sorts of poor treatment by her peers, even by her own housemates. Her life was often lonely, and remained that way until Voldermort's return during her third year. In her fourth, she whole-heartedly believed in Harry and agreed to sign up to Dumbledore's Army.

In time, she became a staunch ally to Harry — taking part in the Battle at the Department of Mysteries, and the Battle of the Astronomy Tower that next summer, taking on Death Eaters more than twice her age. Her stance as a friend of Harry's, paired with her father's magazine The Quibbler standing as a lone public voice of support for Harry, made her a target when Voldermort and the Death Eaters took over. Just before Christmas 1997, she was subsequently captured, imprisoned and tortured at Malfoy Manor for several months before being freed.

As she travelled to Hogwarts on the eve of battle, perhaps the final one, she awoke in the town of Deerington.

Initially in the household of Newt and Theseus Scamander, Luna attended the local highschool and took on an apprenticeship under Newt, caring for the magical beasts and pets of the town. She soon enough got involved with the secrets of the town, uncovering much of the past and present of Cynthia Sodder in particular. While stunned and frightened to discover Cynthia's true form as the Moon Presence following the Moon Sickness she'd suffered when she'd first arrived, it was short-lived when Luna realised the true Cynthia would never harm Sleepers and has in fact loved them all, much like a mother would. She soon enough became on of Cynthia's biggest supporters and remains that in the Waking World.

She developed friendships with plenty of others, most notably with her peer Peter Graham — who became one of her most transformative relationships over her time in Deerington. Initially one born out of two lonely outcasts helping one another through the difficult times Deerington would bring, they began to lean on one another for comfort and safety, particularly in their time in Rapture — they found they could have the experience of one another's company for their own personal enjoyment following their return to the town. In time it continued to grow into a strong friendship, then into a budding romance. With that, her friendship and love for Peter is what lead her to binding herself to the demon possessing the boy: Paimon, a King of Hell. Peter's soul in exchange for Luna filling the role as Peter's summoner/magician. It has been a strange and difficult weight to carry, but she manages the best she can.

As the town continued to deteriorate, thanks to Mother Superior's attempts to get rid of the Sleepers, they soon faced a choice in regards to the fate of the Guardians. While her choices differed to the majority in some cases, Luna chose to Sacrifice the Sodder family and Ramona Derwin. She chose to Awaken the Dog Keeper in hopes of sending him home. She chose to Do Nothing to Mother Superior, not wanting to dignify her with any course of true action.

Finally, she chose to Sacrfice herself. In the end, it was her love for Peter which played a vital role in her choosing to remain, in deciding not to 'awaken from the dream' and go back home to the Wizarding World. She choose instead to remain with him (and Paimon) and decide upon a new path with them — setting out on the next 'adventure' together, in the Waking World.

Hawthorne wands are complex and contradictory in nature; capable of good and bad, help and harm. While they are well suited to healing magic, they are good at dealing out terrible curses — generally a complicated duality. They are sometimes best suited to people going through periods of turmoil. Phoenix feathers are rarer cores, they move on feeling. They're capable of a range of magic that compliments the duality of the hawthorne.

Luna first met Peter Graham at school, when the boy lurched for her in the middle of a fit caused by the restless spirit possessing him. She tamed the wild creature beneath his skin, and with it cemented a degree of trust in Peter and a quiet awe from Paimon, who had been comforted by her touch — given freely and without any direction but to become calm. It's hard to say when exactly she fell in love with the boy, but it's something that grew out of that trust — something quiet and gentle when two lonely people find one another. Peter has become the most important person in Luna's life: her first best friend, her first love. One another's source of comfort and peace in an otherwise hard and chaotic world that is Deerington, both reeling from the respective hardships and horrors they've each faced.

Luna is fiercely protective of Peter. She believes in him. She's in his corner. Always. To harm him is a direct attack on herself and she will not stand for it. She adores the boy more than anything; he's her safe person. She knows the difficulties Peter's faced in his family life, and she does consider him very vulnerable at times, and she worries about him learning about things concerning her own past. As honest as she is and as honest as they are with one another, she wants to protect him from it — even if it means keeping the truth from him. It's something she find difficult to wrestle with, going against her own beliefs like that, and because she knows Peter does deserve the truth — but she remains silent, for now.

It is not without its difficulties and complications, though. There is not just the relationship with Peter, but there is one with Paimon, too. The demon, as broken and twisted as he is, had been drawn to her magic — and she formed a bond with the being's wild and destructive force in a bid to restore balance to him, and spare Peter's soul being forced out. Her relationship with Paimon is both complicated and something they're creating themselves in a simpler, mutually understandable way — and she's hopeful it can be something good, positive. She has certain respect for the demon, one that she'll always have for him, but she doesn't necessarily like him so much just yet — it's a slow-growing relationship, and exhausting at times. Deerington often throws obstacles in their way, and Luna knows fine well Paimon isn't the easiest to get on with in the first place. But she has to try, for Peter's sake.

Sycamores are wands best suitable to the adventurers, and will serve them well as long as they're kept entertained and active. They look for owners with curiosity, boldness and fearlessness and will work hard to learn and adapt. Dragon heartstring cores compliment the boldness of the sycamore, as they're known for their power — but as a core themselves they are somewhat temperamental.

Fern is one of Luna's oldest friends in Deerington, meeting when Luna let him borrow her anti-Nargle charm necklace to keep him safe during the month of December. Their friendship hit rocky times when Luna was caught up in a fight with him, Peter, Louis and Quentin — and was injured as a result. Fern feels immense guilt for his actions, but Luna forgave him for it — even if she didn't quite understand his insecurities being the motivation for it at the time. She considers him a good friend, and with his allegiance to Paimon, a valuable ally she can rely on to keep the demon out of too much trouble.

There's a brash recklessness that makes her worry about his safety, one of the more negatives of him that reminds her of her Gryffindor friends back home, but she recognises that Fern is good at what he does and is absolutely someone she'd want on her side in a fight. She feels sad of his poor opinion of himself, and gently encourages him to look for ways to both better himself and strengthen that self-esteem, as well as offering him affirmations.

Unicorn tail hairs are consistent in their magic and hugely faithful, which compliments the poplar wood to make a fine wand for a pure-hearted and hardworking person who works tirelessly.

While they had spoken briefly on the network, Luna first met Diarmuid when a bout of sleepwalking in the middle of winter brought her to his door. From the very start, he treated her with exceptional kindness — one not expected from a stranger, and ever since she has become protective of him. As strong as she thinks Diarmuid is, there's vulnerability to him and Luna will always come to the defence of her friends in a heartbeat. The monk's good-hearted and kind nature reminds Luna of her own, and she's drawn to that light of him. She values it greatly, having someone with a similar gentle strength to her own. There's power in numbers, after all.

Since then, Diarmuid has become one of Luna's closest and oldest friends, and has a special place in her heart as a fellow countryman. Not to mention their enjoyment of sweet treats and hearty homecooked food. They find difficulty in navigating the modern (and in Luna's case: non-magical) world, but it's something they share in and help one another with. He's also one of her most trusted confidants: there's things she's shared with him she hasn't with anyone else, and she knows that he would never betray that trust.

It should also be noted that no pear wand will ever find their hands in someone with malicious intent, marking them as the wand of the truly good. They're a wood also known for great resilience, too. Unicorn tail hairs are consistent in their magic and hugely faithful to their owners, and while not the strongest of cores — the warmth and good intentions of the pear will bring power to the core.

Two girls both in the midst of war in their respective worlds, they're both people who understand what it's like to have heavy weights on their shoulders. To know their their young lives are in danger, threatened. It's a difficult thing to navigate, but there's kinship in that shared ground. They're both girls who will fight, and keep on fighting — cheering one another on along the way. Luna does worry for Ruby, and her almost dangerously stubborn determination — she does wish she'd take the advice to rest, to not act so brashly in whatever new threat faces them, but Luna does understand that it's not so easy to stand down.

If Luna is the moon, Ruby is the sun: a brightly-blazing spark, full of energy. Her warmth and energetic attitude is infectious, and not quite something she's met before — it took a little while to get used to, but it's honestly something Luna adores Ruby for. Her upbeat energy is honestly something that's very much needed in a place like Deerington. She's become a stead-fast friend, someone who can enjoy the more mundane and teenage-shaped parts of life with, and Luna considers Ruby her closest female friend.

SLYTHERIN | THE MAGICIAN

11", FIR, DRAGON HEARTSTRING

Known as 'the survivor's wand', they are known for getting their owners through perilous situations unscathed. A strong and resilient wood, they are best suited to the formidable and strong-minded of people. However, they can become useless when the owner wavers and becomes indecisive. The dragon heartstring core is known for its powerful and often flamboyant nature — and most capable of dark magic.

A parental shaped figure in the form of a chain-smoking exorcist. John's magic maybe be entirely different to Luna's, but it's a realm of magic she's interested in learning about. And considering her relationship with Paimon, John has become a sort of go-to about the more occult forms of witchcraft and is an invaluable resource in that respect. She spends a great amount of time at his shop, keeping him in stock with some of her potions. He has a roguish charm to him that is endearing, but Luna does respect John as a magic user as well as a more experienced adult. She trusts him, and in turn there's a trust in her too as people who have perhaps been through too much in their lives.

He can, however, be quite trying to deal with. The man's relative stubbornness in his worry of her some days is a challenge, but Luna knows it's because he cares. Additionally: his recent skipping out on everyone was something that Luna strongly disapproved of — for Peter's sake more than hers. She's lost several parental figures in the last year or so, and to have one disappear in town without a word smarted a bit more than she'll like to admit. She's since forgiven him, but she hopes for his sake that the stubborn knee-jerk of deserting is something he can hopefully work on for the sake of everyone he knows.

GRYFFINDOR | STRENGTH

12 ½", BLACKTHORN, DRAGON HEARTSTRING

Longer wands are often attributed not only to those of taller height, but of a larger inner character. Blackthorn is an unusual choice for a wand wood, but it is known for being the wand of the warrior considering the harsh thorns of it — and is a fiercely loyal wood. It should also be noted that blackthorns produce sweet berries after the hardest of frosts, hinting at softer depths that have survived great hardship. Dragon heartstrings are known for great power and tempramental nature, and the combination suggests either a staunch ally or formidble foe.

A strange friendship of sorts, and one that has undergone some difficulty. Luna and Clarisse share the common ground of being outsiders withing their respective worlds — but for somewhat different reasons. While Clarisse was often a sort of bully, Luna had once both been the target of bullies — but they are both people who have struggled to be who they are, with Clarisse seeking her father's approval as a daughter and Luna seeking kindness from her peers with her eccentricity. They're both oddities, in their own ways. They are young women who have had to work hard to earn their friends.

Luna admires Clarisse's strength and determination. She is a valuable ally and friend, even if their friendship is still very much slowly blossoming. Like with Peter, Luna recognises there is softness beneath her coarse and blunt nature — one that has been hidden, but perhaps can be allowed out at times. In a way, Clarisse reminds Luna of Ginny with her nerve and strength, living in the shadow of several older brothers — but shining out in her own way, never hidden away by it. She is still regretful of fatally harming Clarisse, but the girl harbours no ill-will, and they're slowly building a stronger friendship on that.
