Knowing Fern, I think getting him to say hello to you would be a massive improvement. A few months ago he mostly just avoided Peter or glared at him the whole time we stayed under one roof for a while.

But, yes. Maybe. Fern needs help from people, just like anyone else. He can be really nice and a good person, I've seen it.
It's fortunate there hasn't been another incident like that, but yes we were alright. I don't think any of us will know, it's between him and Peter. Boys can be... quite dumb, sometimes.

It's one of those weird but wonderful parts of Deerington, I think. Odd people coming together. One of the few parts I do like about this place.

I'm sure we'll try to work something out to help you get off of it, although I'm not sure how either right now. But we'll manage something in the end.
You could try, but I'm not sure how he'll take it. I certainly know he'll worry about you, though. Peter worries, that's just how he is.

Honestly? It'd be wonderful to get some help in that regard. It'd be a nice change of pace to not have to walk on eggshells around him.
Yeah... I got that impression seeing him at school. Maybe it's a dead end. It's not really fair to drag him further into that mess either.
