[now sansa's features fall into a proper frown.]

There can be no justice without peace. I don't see how anyone who cared about justice could threaten it.

[but she doesn't see how a pthumerian could understand justice in a human world, anyway, when even humans hardly seem to manage it. she draws a breath.]

I had hoped The Reckoning came this month because it was so difficult, to bring us justice when we needed it most, and not the other way around.

[she glances back at lady for a moment, and then luna again.]

How can we ask the Moon Presence's blessing? I thought we were meant to leave her flowers.

There never is any justice, and we won't find it in war.

[sansa sighs, irritably. there seems little point in arguing over the meaning of justice. the reckoning will do as she pleases.]

Well, I could make bloodstone flowers, but I know more about songs than rituals. What else would you propose we do?
dohaeris: (I won't cause problems!!!)

[at luna's question, sansa stops frowning so hard.]

Oh––there is the Mother's Hymn. I was singing it Lady Ammako the other day, but Lady Cynthia is a mother too. It's from my world; it asks the Mother, one of the Seven, for peace and protection.

[she sighs.]

For everything that seems to be lacking, this month. I could teach it to you if you like.

[sansa smiles ruefully, a little sheepish. alayne stone had been, by and large, too cool for sept.]

It's the Faith of the Seven. I explained it a little for my tart in the Bake Off finals. They are all meant to be one god, in seven forms; the Mother, the Father, the Warrior, the Maiden, the Smith, the Crone, and the Stranger. They represent different kinds of people, I suppose, except the Stranger is also meant to be death. He's not in any of the hymns. You're meant to pray to each of them for different things, there are songs and stories to explain it.

[she laughs a little, nervously.]

I'm sure the Seven-Pointed Star is in the Archives. It's the book all the septas and septons read. There are a lot of stories that are meant to be lessons on how to behave. I always liked the songs best, and the pictures in the sept. The Mother's Hymn is very easy, and I could write down the words for you.
